The musculoskeletal system is astonishingly complex. Twenty-six bones, connected by a myriad of joints, tendons, ligaments, and muscles, comprise one foot alone. Each part of the system links to another, the components joining to form a unified whole – a human body that can run an errand or a touchdown, play hopscotch or the harp, drive a golf ball or a car.
